Asda has been supporting BBC Children in Need for 24 years with customers and colleagues raising over £34 million during that time.
Navigation was briefed to develop a fundraising campaign that Asda colleagues across the UK could support. Previous store activities had been developed at local level.
The Asda Push For Pudsey campaign was created with Asda colleagues working together to push a Pudsey themed trolley around the world – 24,900 miles, collecting donations as they pushed.
Navigation designed a range of materials that the Asda store colleagues could dress up a trolley in their store, adding their own ideas to create real impact in store and across their communities, and share on their store social media. As well as card-based materials, stores were supplied with balloons, bells, horns and pedometers to measure the distance travelled.
As you would expect, the response from Asda Colleagues was fantastic, with a large number of stores getting involved and creating some great photos and videos including many where colleagues were pushed around the stores in the trolley. The campaign delivered some great social media engagement together with local press support.
Across the extensive range of Asda and George Pudsey themed clothes and other materials sold in store, together with all Asda Children in Need fundraising undertaken, a total of £3.16 Million was raised, supporting the Fuelling Potential Programme, allowing BBC Children in Need to help combat holiday hunger by providing children with a meal whilst they enjoy fun activities at a BBC Children in Need holiday session to help boost their health and wellbeing.
An absolute pleasure to support Asda in their fundraising activity, as they plan for the 25th anniversary of their partnership with BBC Children in Need in November 25.
