Navigation Agency was asked to create and deliver 5 memorable events across the UK as part of the “Asda Spreading Christmas Cheer” campaign. Each event had to be unique and create sufficient impact for it to be filmed forming the basis for a major social media campaign leading up to Christmas. Navigation Agency was responsible for the planning and implementation of the programme of events over a 14 day period.

Shaftesbury Youth Club, Birkenhead
‘This way to the Winter Wonderland’
Children from Shaftesbury Youth Club had a day to remember when Navigation Agency helped ASDA arrange a magical party complete with Santa and the Grinch!
The after school club which looks after more than 100 youngsters aged 6 to 12, 4 nights a week was transformed into a Winter Wonderland complete with Santa’s grotto, a giant snow globe, funfair stalls, stilt walkers and a disco.
WASPS (Wiley Avenue South People’s Group), Darlaston
‘A very special Christmas Lunch’
Navigation Agency helped ASDA surprise WASPS, by arranging for their kitchen facilities to be transformed, so that they could host a proper Christmas party. The party was a surprise for all the guests, they enjoyed a ‘hot’ Christmas 3 course lunch (for the first time), were welcomed by carol singers in Victorian costume, the room was resplendent with a Christmas Tree, decorations and balloons.
The ArtWorks Gallery Community Centre, Rotherham
‘Breakfast with Santa’
ArtWorks Community Centres in Rotherham and Sheffield provide a creative environment in which adults with learning difficulties can flourish. Breakfast Clubs had been a popular element for the community clubs but had to stop due to lack of funds. Asda brought some ‘Christmas Cheer’ to the ArtWorks Centres by providing funding to enable the Breakfast clubs to run throughout 2023.
To celebrate this announcement Navigation Agency delivered a very special Breakfast event. The members/artists were picked up by coach, with Father Christmas on board, when they arrived at the ArtWorks Gallery Community Centre, they were greeted by a local choir, a snow machine and were all given Christmas jumpers, they then had a breakfast of pancakes and fruit, and sausage sandwiches cooked by a local chef whilst being entertained by magicians and a balloon artist and then we had the big announcement of the Asda donation, to the applause of all those in attendance.
Bangor Food Bank and Community Centre, Bangor
‘A festive slow cook’
Asda have had an association with the Bangor Food Bank for many years, this year they donated an industrial freezer to the food bank, to help people who used the food bank, they also donated 150 slow cookers.
Navigation Agency organised an event where food bank guests were invited along to a ‘surprise gathering’, on arrival they were greeted by a singing Santa on his sleigh baring gifts (slow cookers), we had the unveiling of the industrial freezer and invited our guests to join us for a 3 course festive lunch, all prepared in slow cookers, the local catering college was invited to come along and demo 1 of the dishes as well as serving up the 3 courses to guests.
Asda Christmas Cheer Event, Edmonton
‘Transformation fit for a gym’
Asda support the Youth and Community Connexions organisation, the centre supports the community in Edmonton with a safe place for kids to hang out with their friends and learn new skills.
One of their rooms was used for storage, they had a dream of turning it into a gym for the kids.
Navigation Agency set about turning their dream into reality, by organising for the best gym flooring to be laid, getting the room decorated and freshly painting the walls and ceiling, a local artist was also secured to design an inspirational graffiti wall.
Once the room had been sorted, Navigation Agency organised a party, invited a local boxing coach along to help the kids let off some steam, once they had channelled their inner Muhammad Ali, it was time for some delicious African Caribbean food, along with endless desserts, Victoria sponge, Christmas cake and pick and mix sweets.
