The team got creative at Waterloo Station for the launch of #HiddenHeroes campaign for NetworkRail in collaboration with Storycatchers. A pop up art studio was set up in the busy station where Sky Portrait Artist of the Year winners Wendy Barratt and Duncan Shoosmith and finalist Sara Reeves immortalised 2 of the campaign’s heroes. Commuters could even have a go and grab a paintbrush to join in.
The Hidden Heroes campaign celebrates the brilliant people working behind the scenes to keep the UK’s rail network moving, and its been such an interesting and rewarding project to be involved in.
Huge thanks goes to Heroes Manny Kang and Anita Bradfield, for sitting so patiently and for being such fun to work with on this campaign. It is a fantastic way to shine a light on all the hidden work they do to keep the railway moving.
The incredible completed portraits will be available for public viewing in 2025 around key NetworkRail stations.
